Suzuki Method in violin, viola, cello, piano and flute
(Sunday July 20 to Friday July 25, 2008)
According to age and level of playing, students will participate in a combination of four of the following daily classes:
Strings
individual instruction, group lessons, Dalcroze or percussion, jazz or fiddling, chamber music, orchestra, choir
Piano
individual instruction, group lessons, improvisation or reading, Dalcroze or percussion, duets or chamber music, choir
Flute
individual instruction, group lessons, Dalcroze or percussion, flute choir, reading or orchestral excerpts, chamber music, choir
To the daily schedule each student or parent may add practicing, parent lectures, arts and crafts, and of course, faculty and student recitals to be offered at lunch time and in the evening.

Chamber Music Session for Strings, Flautists and Pianists
(Sunday July 20 to Sunday July 27, 2007)
We invite young musicians on a fascinating journey into the wide world of chamber music, a musical world in which there is so much to do, where the possibilities are endless. This session for strings, pianists and flautists is for keen musicians who are eager to widen their musical horizons.
In eight days of intensive study the daily schedule will include :
- an individual lesson
- a group lesson
- string orchestra, orchestral excerpts or reading
- two ensemble coaching sessions
- individual and ensemble practice
- faculty and student recitals offered at lunch time and in the evening
While this program is mainly intended for teens, mature advanced younger players are also admitted. Performance levels of the participants should be at or above the equivalent of the following pieces:

| Cello | Vivaldi's Sonata in E minor |
| Piano | First movement of Haydn's Sonata No. 48 |
| Flute | Bourrées I and II from Bach's Suite in B minor |
Audition is by VHS or DVD recording due April 11. 2008. Prepare a high quality recording representing your level of proficiency in solo repertoire. Please include two contrasting pieces, preferably with piano accompaniment. Please contact us for further information.

Edmonton-Montreal String Quartet Exchange
(Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 27, 2008)
- July 10: Montreal participants travel to Edmonton
- July 19: Return to Montreal with Edmonton participants
- July 28: Edmonton participants return to Edmonton
We are coordinating our activities with the Alberta Suzuki String Institute (ASSI) (www.albertasuzuki.org) which will take place in Edmonton from July 11 to July 18. We hope that many intermediate and advanced string players who are auditioning for the Chamber Music Session for Strings, Flautists and Pianists will audition for the Edmonton-Montreal String Quartet Exchange. The Edmonton-Montréal quartets will begin their musical journey in Edmonton to then pursue it in Montréal. Participants will be billeted with local families. What a great experience!

The exchange project has been approved to receive sponsorship from SEVEC, an organisation that subsidises travel expenses for student exchanges within Canada. This grant applies only to Canadian participants between 12 and 17 years old. Candidates who are 18 and over may participate in the Exchange but are not eligible to receive the travel subsidy.
